Summer Science Camp Counselor

Planned small labs and activities to optimize the kids' learning opportunities
Served as a counselor in the summer camps, interacted with roughly 80 kids (age ranged 3 to 9) and helped them perform/understand basic science experiments

Kids In Charge Teen Advisory Board

Organized and attended events to celebrate and represent what MOSI stands for, bringing science education to all kids
Helped maintain and improve the exhibits by reviewing, surveying, and making original suggestions to the museum
Managed communications as operations officer and sent out emails to members regarding meetings and events

Ryan Nece Foundation Student Service Program

May 2014 - May 2016
The foundation seeks to spread the “power of giving.”
Learned about the community in various service events, including serving lunch to the food-insecure at Trinity Café and collecting and donating supplies to The Spring, a center for domestic abuse victims
Worked with fellow members to organize Restaurants for Ryan (a fundraiser to pay it forward to the next group of students) by managing the website (restaurantsforryan.com) and social media campaign. Spread the power fo giving by meeting guests at the restaurant
Served the Bonao community in the Dominican Republic by renovating a recreational center and baseball field on a foundation-sponsored service trip. Also experienced cultural exchange (Read about my experience here and here)
Developed a refined attitude through the 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens by Sean Covey; attended monthly panel discussions with various business leaders to reflect on practical implications of the habits
Served as mentor to the new students for the second year of the program

Temple Affiliated

Youth Coordinator, Jain Society of Tampa Bay

Served as a coordinator for youth activities, such as field days and community service trips
Also helped set up temple events and encouraged other youth to come early for setup
Volunteer events I organized included walking at the St. Jude’s Hospital annual walk, collecting canned foods for Hope Children’s Home, and visiting the home to meet the kids there

Local Representative, Young Jains of America

Organized events to help Jain youth in the area connect
Primarily targets young adults ages 14-29, who are also eligible to attend YJA’s biennial convention and annual regional retreats
Developed communication and organizational skills while encouraging people to attend and meet new people
This organization has provided me means to connect with people who share my religion, culture, and lifestyle—and I enjoy the friends I’ve made, so I work to create more connections like those
